access to Windows Live has expired
I keep receiving emails that "access to Windows Live has expired". I login to Soocial and reestablish the connection to Windows Live and everything is good for a day (2 days max) and then I receive another email telling me that access has expired again. I'm selecting 1 year so why am I being forced every day or two to reestablish a connection to Windows Live?

We have found out for sure that this is a Windows Live issue.
The user can choose to give permission for:
1 day
1 week
2 weeks
1 month
------------
2 months
3 months
6 months
9 months
1 year
The problem is that when the user picks anything that is longer than "1 month" the permission will be set to one DAY.
So we recommend giving permission for one month until this issue is fixed. We will put a warning in the set up flow for the user.

Jeremy, this problem seems to have been introduced over the last few day for a few users. We are investigating and will let you as soon as we know more.

Thanks for following up Bart. Can you update this thread when the issue is resolved? I had to re-establish my link to Windows Live both yesterday and again today. it's becoming very frustrating.

Even though one requests that the connection shouldn't expire for 1 year, looking at the 'Manage your shared information' section of Windows Live, shows that it will expire in 24 hours.

I’m
just as frustrated as you guys...
It's actually an undocumented error from the Windows Live API that we are getting with the syncs. We are working with Microsoft to solve the issue. Thanks for your patience and we are working to solve it ASAP! -

For now we advice to give permission for a month since that still seems to work. Anything longer will make the permission expire the next day.

Has this been resolved? This is pretty significant. We run a web app that really depends on the length of api access.

Bummer Jase. Microsoft needs to fix this. But they don't because they say this API we are using is going to be deprecated. They want us to use the new API, but that is read only. So, we are sticking with this one as long as it is available.
Just out of curiosity, what webapp are you running? -

Bart, Thanks for getting back to me. It's sort of like a very simple and manual Plaxo. It connects with Facebook and other email services but those channels need to stay open for a while for it to work. We're instructing users to do the 1 month for now. Its in private beta but I'll post a link back here in a few weeks.

Actually you'll be relieved to know... no :) Sync is not a part of it but our users would benefit from also using your service :)

Getting real curious now....
